Why tankless water heaters?
Tankless water heaters conserve energy by giving you hot water only when you want it.
How do they work?
When you turn on the hot water in your home, water passes through the tank-less unit. As the water is passing through, the unit is activated. The greater the demand (how much water and how hot you want the water), the greater the number of burners are on to keep pace. You determine the water temperature by the way of a controller which allows you to change the temperature as needed.
Tankless water heaters are not "instant" hot water units, therefore switching from a tank to a tankless requires professional analysis. The gas supply is the most important element, too little and you will not benefit from the unit.
We have found that other installers do not properly measure the gas pressure to insure that, when all gas demands are taking place, the tank-less unit will properly operate. Simply having a 3/4 inch gas line is not enough. In fact, you will likely use more water and fuel, not to mention possible warranty issues. Have only qualified professionals determine if tankless is for you.

What is the maintenance for tankless water heaters?
There is some minimual maintenance for tankless water heaters. Every one or two years, depending on the water quality, the unit should be flushed. The incoming filter should be changed and the gas operation pressures should be checked as well. Only a qualified professional should make any gas pressure adjustments.
